An Introduction to Race, Ethnicity, Intersectionality, and Inclusion in Hispanic-Latin American Culture

This course focused on understanding the difference between race and ethnicity, as well as, the microagressions, racism, antiblackness, and biases that are harmful to the Black Latin American Community. This course supports understanding of intersectionality and privilege and how to better foster inclusive language and welcoming environment for academic, work, and therapy practices.

Bio:

Amanda Pericles is a Black Dominican-American, bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist, Clinical Fellow. She graduated from Boston University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and earned a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Northeastern University in 2020. She is a Co-Administrator for Speech-Language Pathologists of Color, Inc., and has been featured on platforms such as Noticias Telemundo for her work in uplifting and affirming Black Latinx identity.
